What are the anti wrinkle injections?
Anti wrinkle injections consist of small amounts of high quality botulinum toxin injected into muscle for the treatment of winkles
What is Botulinum toxin or Botox?
Botulinum toxin (Botox) is a purified protein produced by the clostridium botulinum bacterium. It is injected directly into facial muscles and other areas in very tiny amounts during treatment.
Is it safe?
Botulinum toxin (Botox) has been used for over 25 years for aesthetics and even longer for other medical conditions. It is very safe.
How does it work?
It works by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to facial muscles that have been injected. This makes the muscles less active and therefore softens and smoothes the appearance of persistent lines and wrinkles.
How many treatments will I need?
The treatment begins to take effect after two-three days and in most cases patients can see a real difference two weeks after one treatment. Every face is unique of course and we’ll advise you on how many treatments you’re likely to need and how often, depending on the results you’d like to achieve.
How long does Botulinum toxin work for?
The effects of Botulinum toxin often lasts up to four months depending on the patient. If you decide to stop treatment, lines and wrinkles will gradually return.
Is the treatment painful?
It is very rare for treatment with Botulinum toxin to be painful. You may experience a feeling of slight discomfort during the treatment itself, if at all.
I want fuller and more shapely lips but I’m worried I will end up with a ‘trout pout’?
Through our careful full facial assessment we will ascertain your exact expectations of treatment. If the look you want is a subtle improvement in the fullness and shape of your lips, then using our techniques we can make sure not to over bulk this sensitive area.
Can I go back to work after the procedure?
With Botox injections, at worst you will have a little redness which will subside after a few hours. Following dermal filler injections of the mouth area or nose to mouth area you may experience temporary mild bruising and swelling so in fact you may decide not to return to work that day.
